Welcome to BurrMcIntosh.com, a site created in memory of the great Burr McIntosh Monthly, a magazine published just 1903-1910.
Odd in size and unique in scope, the Burr McIntosh Monthly was a pictorial magazine featuring photos of personalities most familiar to high society Americans during the first decade of the 20th Century. Inside it's pages would be the latest photos of (typically visiting) royalty, stars of the stage, even some sports stars, along with shots of landscapes and peoples from around the world.
This high quality publication came bound with a string so subscribers could untie an issue and display their favorite images from inside. The Burr McIntosh Monthly even marketed mattes to fit their off-sized pages so their readers could display the plates in a quality way.
As the last issue of the Burr McIntosh Monthly was published in 1910, all issues have long been in the public domain. And so the BurrMcIntosh.com blog will be bringing the pages of the Burr McIntosh Monthly back to you one image at a time. Each image will also include any text originally published over 100 years ago inside the pages of the magazine.
My name is Cliff Aliperti and I am a lifelong collector as well as long-time dealer in vintage collectibles. Besides BurrMcIntosh.com I run several other collectibles related websites including CollectingOldMagazines.com; the magawiki; my original site, Immortal Ephemera, a site dedicated to 1930's and 40's film star, Warren William; and the ClassicMovieSearch.
I also sell collectibles specializing in vintage movie cards and ephemeral items; 19th and early 20th century magazine back issues; a healthy selection of single page prints from the Burr McIntosh Monthly. You can view all of my currently available stock inside my eBay Store, where I have sold since April 2000.
